Louisiana is amazing!!!!
So the airplane here was kind of terrible and like it made me really nauseous and afterward I felt super dizzy and like when I tried to sleep I couldn't sleep very well because when ever I closed my eyes I felt like I was spinning. But while on the airplane I had a lot of fun. The airplane was way cool and my companion and I checked out the toilets to see if they were like the ones we saw in the movies.  They were like that. Haha, where there isn't any water. It was interesting. Hahaha, but I flew to Georgia then Mississippi.  Then I spent the night in Mississippi and I drove to Louisiana.
So on the 12th, I met Sister Nash (my trainer) she is like 6 feet 2 inches. She makes me look even smaller and younger but that is okay.  I have learned that the people here talk a lot and slow but about nothing, so I am learning patients. I am used to people talking fast and not really being redundant. Its interesting here but it is good.  And like I have a missionary in my district who was like overly explaining something and I just had to say "Elder, I understand you. Please continue." It was really funny but I am learning, I guess he knew that people here are used to hearing the same things multiple times.  And my trainer says that they teach the same lessons over and over and over again. That is not what I was expecting at all, but we will see how that goes.
On the 13th I woke up in my bed, it was awesome to finally feel like I have a bed. Like a bed that is mine for the next 12 or so weeks.  I am really loving tracting and just meeting everyone that is here. I also have been waking up and doing a Jillian Michaels workout and that has honestly been so fun.
On the 14th I went tracting and I met two cousins and they are super nice. They let us teach them the first lesson about the restoration and the spirit was so strong. And it has been cool practicing reciting the 1st vision because even though I would say it lots and lots of times I would feel the Spirit when I said it.  It is a powerful vision. Sister Nash and I continued to tract when I saw a man in a car. I remembered when I went on splits with Sister Tuigamala and I was scared to approach someone in their car and I made Sister Tuigamala do most of the talking and I always looked back on that experience kind of with frustration with my own scared self so I was the one that approached this man in the car and I had to tell my trainer that we should talk to him. It was awesome. I am planning on going and visiting him again and seeing what he thinks of what we told him. It was great.  It shows us that we learn and grow from our pasts and that makes me happy.
The 15th was awesome because it was my fist time saying the 1st vision in a lesson. Well, kind of my second but the first time was more for practice.
The 16th was crazy and a little funny. I said my morning prayer and in my morning prayer I decided to pray to be healthier (because I was feeling not as healthy as when I was home) so I prayed for health. So then I got ready for the day and went out to the kitchen area and in that area I saw a box with a bow and a card with someone from the wards name on it. It was interesting so I opened the box and inside was all the candy in the house (except for jolly ranchers which really aren't that great) and so that was pretty funny. My companion then said we were going to give it to a 93 year old lady. I have no clue why we would give all our candy to a 93 year old lady. Like literally 93 (I would capitalize it but its numbers so I cant) anyways, we gave it to her. Apparently my companion missed an appointment with her previously and they have like never missed an appointment with her so she felt bad. Haha. It was too perfect to be anything but a miracle.
On Sunday I bore my testimony (because I was asked to do so by the bishop even though it wasn't fast Sunday) and gave a woman a church tour. She came to church and wanted a tour so we showed her around and then we gave her a lesson after church. It was really good. She asked us to convince her that the church is true and we said she had to find out for herself and told her to read the Book of Mormon.  Then we tracted for a while. It was so much fun. We kept getting doors slammed on our faces but we were like singing and quoting scripture and it was so fun and we were bothering people when they said "we want nothing to do with your church" and we would say "have a blessed day" it was pretty great. Anyways. At one house we knocked and we were going to leave but it was cold so my companion was going to give me her sweater (she had a sweater and a coat and I had nothing) so while she was doing so a kind lady drove up, she talked to us and she was amazing. Like super amazing. We gave her a Book of Mormon and the restoration pamphlet.  And we have a return appointment. It has been a blessed week. I am realizing that God does work in mysterious ways.  Like often when I read scriptures I have found that the scriptures I have read have gone perfectly with lessons I have taught and I have been able to use those scriptures.  Like my companion and I were planning on studying the plan of salvation and in personal study I was on 2nd Nephi 2. And that is so perfect for the plan of salvation. God blesses those who are trying to do what is right.
1 Nephi 22:20. God numbers His sheep.  When I first read that I didn't really love it, I don't want to just be some number. I thought about it and realized that shepherds would only count their sheep if they don't want to lose them. It makes me happy to know that God is looking out for me and want me to be safe and happy. I love y'all sooo much!
Love Always,
Sister Anderson

Hey Family!
I got here safely. I love y'all. I have only been here 1 day but I was given time to e-mail my parents right now. So.... Here I am e-mailing you. I only have ten minutes to e-mail. So, it's been good so far. I have a companion named Sister Jones, just like Michael said I would! It was so funny. I told her about it and she thought it was funny. My other companion is named Sister Greenshraugh. Or something like that. It is so hard to remember her name so that is probably actually not how to spell it.  I am pretty hungry here so thank you so much for packing that sandwich, I have not yet had time to eat it because there has literally been no time.  And I will have no personal time at all. Like 24 hours 7 days a week I will be with a companion.  At college, my roommate was like never there so I got really used to having a room to myself, I could read outloud or blast music but now I am always with the other two. So, I can only e-mail family right now and possibly only family my entire mission (I hope that is a rumor) but yeah, so if you could just tell anyone who needs to know, life is going good.  Today has been good. I have already talked to practice companions. It was pretty good.  I am learning the language of the Spirit and I do like it.  I have felt the Spirit here and I am thankful for that. I like my companions and I am glad that they are both pretty cool and friendly. One companion is 21 and one is 19 but she graduated 2014. I got to go. I love you so much. I guess you could forward this or not, what ever you want. I love you and hopefully I can e-mail more people next time and e-mail for longer. Stay amazing. The entire family is in my prayers. I love you.
Love always,
Sister Anderson.

Dear Kaitlin or rather Sister Anderson, I will forward your email to all.  I was really surprised to get an email and am glad I followed the prompting I received.  I got my tablet out and deleted a bunch of emails since I haven't read emails since before christmas.  Then I thought I wonder if kaitlin sent an email and it went to my gmail account which I never use nor do I know the password for but my tablet happened to have it programmed in and I opened it up and found your letter.  That was so exciting.  Is it easier for you to send to gmail than to yahoo?  I forwarded your picture that I took on my phone to Drake.  He was glad to have it.  It was a nice picture of you.  I will also send it to josiah.  That is hilarious about sister jones.  Where are your companions from?  Did you get the letters dad and erin and david sent thru dearelder.com?  I am glad you have had the opportunity to feel the spirit.  I have been praying for you.  Conner and I are going to watch the district series when we get home.  After we dropped you off I missed you a bunch.  We ate lunch then drove to lehi.  You were write about the yellow color.  It isnt real soothing.  Tessa fell down about four stairs and got a huge knot on her head.  We put ice on it, which she thought was a game so she is doing okay.  We will look at her head in the morning.  We played a fun game which I will probably buy.  Conner wasnt happy about being on the losers team (dad and I) especially since dad couldnt remember the rules of the game.  We all watched michael wrap allisons Christmas gift, including Allison since they were all in an amazon box.  We all laughed at the end result.  Michael described his wrapping as a four year old wearing oven mitts.  It did look pretty crazy.  I need to spend a few hours wrapping the rest of the presents.  We are hoping a salesman can come by so I can answer the door and tell them to go away because it is Christmas.  Kylee and Chas will be coming in super late as their plane was cancelled and now they have a seven hour layover in los angeles.  I suggested they try to get on a plane on stand-by and perhaps come in sooner.  I asked the family which traditions they still want to do and Erin said she wants to do the nativity.  So that made me happy.  The boys groaned about wearing dorky hats again and complained about being on facebook.  We are going to decorate gingerbread men and then on new years day we will play the candy bar game after we celebrate Christmas.  I have all your boxes in the van from both michaels and erins and will organizs them and look for your check.  I will pay tithing on it for you unless you know you already did, plus the five dollars you asked me to do and the rest at home.  Boy for not seeing you for only 12 hours I sure had a lot to say.  And I am not done yet.  Did you get your kiss good night?  I just want you to know that I love you so much.  I admire your thoughtfulness and your spirituality.  You are so kind and generous - example - the homeless guy as we got off the freeway and you wanting to give him some string cheese.  Thanks for that prompting and not being afraid to act upon it.  I will try to share some of the ones I have had as I write letters to you.  Well, I should go to bed but I first want you to know that I love you very much.  I feel like one of my best friends is gone and I miss you.  Keep up the good work.  You are awesome.  Love, mom

The MTC has been crazy! thank you so much for the dearelder letters. It makes me super happy to get them. I really love them. And it would have been super funny if a salesman had come by and you told him to go away because it was Christmas. That would have been really funny. I am really glad that second Christmas went really well. I really love hearing about life back home and I am really thankful that I can be emailing you. When I get to Mississippi I will not be able to have another P day until a week because there will be P days on Monday and that is the day I fly off there. So I will not even be here for two weeks. It is crazy, but it has been so fun to be here.

Love, mom
